    The Taste of Bengal is a good Indian restaurant situated in the heart of the popular Standish Village. The building is only small but is well decorated and always busy, the staff are always friendly and helpful, if you don't know your Rogan Josh from your Chicken Chilli Masala ask them and they will direct you to a dish that is suitable for your palette. The food is good and portions large. You may get stragglers from the pubs later on in the evening so I always aim to eat around 8pm. One criticism is the windows, why are they always steamed up!

    This restaurant is in need of a facelift. It has borne the same decor and musky smell for years. The toilets look like they are out of an horror film. The food isn't that good either. It reminds me a bit of fawlty towers. If you have had a few beers and want a curry, then it's fine, but don't go there for a special occasion.

    Yet another wonderful indian restaurant within a small area. obviously I am not alone in loving the cuisine. Dingy exterior belies the calibre of the food and service. The menu is quite large and has a good mix of regional dishes. Parking att he rear is small but perfectly formed.
